Early Man

Dug is a typical intrepid hero still living in a fairly peaceful Stone Age. And now, along with his four-legged friend Chenich, he must save his tribe and beloved home from a great threat. The Bronze Age has invaded them, led by the villainous Lord Buffoon. By chance, Dug eventually finds himself right in the middle of enemy territory, where he stakes the future of his tribe in a strange game in which two equally sized groups of warriors try to kick a leather ball.

Dug has only one chance: to teach himself and ten other very clumsy prudes how to play soccer and then win a match against the elite Real Bronzio national team. That's the only way they can reclaim their territory. That seems impossible at first. It looks more like a total disaster, a total debacle, followed by a long period of work in the mines of a victorious civilisation. Fortunately, they manage to get the great football fan Tyna on their side and thanks to her coaching methods, which also use bubbling volcanoes and boiling geysers, everything starts to turn for the better. But can the Stone Age surpass the Bronze Age? Will Dug and his team win the game and reclaim their territory? Nothing is certain.

British studio Aardman Animations, headed by Oscar-winning director Nick Park, after such films as Chicken Trip, Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, comes a film about the clash of civilisations. Will the Stone Age or the Bronze Age win?
